兒時家庭暴力造成的心靈創傷如果不處理，導致細胞DNA的端粒縮短速度增加，平均減少五到十年的壽命。

 對醫療專業來說，端粒縮短越快，DNA能夠複製的次數越少，老化越快，壽命越短。幫助身體的有效保健或者治療，必然是縮短端粒縮短的速度。
